Transforming Lives Through Health

Introduction

At VACCD, we are committed to providing comprehensive and immediate support to individuals experiencing mental health crises. Our Mobile Crisis Services, aligned with the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) guidelines, are designed to offer timely, community-based intervention and support to those in need.

What Are Mobile Crisis Services?

Mobile Crisis Services are an essential component of Virginia's mental health care system, offering rapid response and on-site support to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. These services aim to stabilize the immediate situation, provide appropriate interventions, and link individuals to ongoing care and resources.

Key Features of Our Mobile Crisis Services:

  1. Immediate Response: Our team is available 24/7 to respond to mental health crises. Whether it's a call from a family member, a friend, or the individual in distress, we ensure a prompt response to assess and address the situation effectively.
  2. Qualified Professionals: Our Mobile Crisis Services are delivered by a team of highly trained mental health professionals, including licensed therapists, social workers, and crisis intervention specialists. Each team member is equipped with the skills and knowledge to handle a wide range of mental health emergencies.
  3. Comprehensive Assessment: Upon arrival, our team conducts a thorough assessment of the individual's mental health status, safety, and immediate needs. This assessment guides our intervention strategies and helps determine the most appropriate course of action.
  4. Stabilization and Support: Our primary goal is to stabilize the crisis situation. We provide immediate support, de-escalation techniques, and therapeutic interventions to help individuals regain a sense of control and safety.
  5. Coordination of Care: Following stabilization, we assist individuals in accessing necessary follow-up care. This includes coordination with outpatient services, hospitalization if required, and connection to community resources and support networks.
  6. Family and Caregiver Support: Recognizing the impact of a mental health crisis on families and caregivers, we offer guidance, education, and support to help them understand the situation and contribute to the individual’s recovery.
  7. Preventative Measures: Beyond immediate crisis intervention, we work with individuals and their support systems to develop crisis prevention plans. These plans aim to reduce the likelihood of future crises and promote long-term mental health stability.

Why Choose VACCD?

  • Expertise and Experience: Our team brings extensive experience in crisis intervention and mental health support, ensuring high-quality care tailored to each individual’s needs.
  • Community Focused: We are deeply rooted in the Virginia community, understanding the unique challenges and resources available to our clients.
