Transforming Lives Through Health

Introduction

At VACCD,  we understand the unique challenges that adolescents face when dealing with substance use disorders. Our ASAM Level 1.0 Outpatient Services, tailored to meet the guidelines of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and Virginia’s Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS), provide comprehensive and flexible treatment options specifically designed for adolescents. Our goal is to support young individuals in their journey to recovery while allowing them to continue their daily activities such as school and family life.

What Is ASAM Level 1.0 Outpatient Services for Adolescents?

ASAM Level 1.0 Outpatient Services are the foundational level of care for adolescents with substance use disorders. These services are intended for those who need structured support and treatment but do not require the intensity of inpatient care. The program includes regular therapy sessions and support services designed to help adolescents achieve and maintain sobriety while continuing their education and daily responsibilities.

Key Features of Our ASAM Level 1.0 Outpatient Services for Adolescents:

  1. Personalized Treatment Plans:Every adolescent receives a customized treatment plan based on a thorough assessment of their individual needs, strengths, and goals. This plan is regularly reviewed and updated to ensure it remains effective and relevant.
  2. Flexible Scheduling:Understanding the busy lives of adolescents, we offer flexible scheduling options, including after-school and weekend sessions, to ensure that treatment does not interfere with their educational and extracurricular activities.
  3. Evidence-Based Therapies:Our program incorporates evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and family-based interventions. These therapies are proven effective in treating substance use disorders and promoting long-term recovery in adolescents.
  4. Group Therapy:Group therapy sessions provide a safe and supportive environment where adolescents can share their experiences, learn from peers, and build a sense of community. These sessions are facilitated by skilled therapists and focus on topics relevant to adolescent development and recovery.
  5. Individual Counseling:One-on-one counseling sessions offer adolescents personalized support and guidance. These sessions focus on addressing underlying issues, developing healthy coping mechanisms, and setting and achieving personal recovery goals.
  6. Family Involvement:Family involvement is a crucial component of adolescent recovery. Our services include family therapy and educational sessions to help families understand substance use disorders, support their adolescent’s recovery, and strengthen family dynamics.
  7. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT):For adolescents who may benefit from medication to support their recovery, we offer Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) as part of our comprehensive outpatient services. MAT is integrated with counseling and behavioral therapies to provide a holistic approach to treatment.
  8. Continuous Monitoring and Support:Our team provides ongoing monitoring and support to help adolescents stay on track with their recovery goals. Regular check-ins and progress evaluations ensure that treatment plans are adjusted as needed to meet the evolving needs of each adolescent.
